Of songs and sausage
East Nashville's Family Wash keeps up its good work, presenting fine music and serving up these really good chicken sausage things. I think there are apples mixed in there with the chicken, and it ends up tasting pretty fabulous.
The music? Oh, yes, the music. While the kitchen is grilling up those chicken sausage things, the stage will feature two nifty shows this weekend. Tonight, big-voiced Kristi Rose will sing her songs of depravity, true love and stuff like that.
Tomorrow, New Jersey-born, Nashville-residing Joe Pagetta will sing his rock-informed, contemporary folk songs. Pagetta's promo photo makes him look like a Yankee tough guy, but his Recollections of Maybeville album has been licensed for use by the Oxygen Network.
No cover charge for either gig. Kristi Rose starts at 9:30 p.m., while Pagetta will begin at 9 p.m. The Family Wash is at the corner of Greenwood and Porter Road. Call 226-6070 for more information.
