JOE PAGETTA The New Jersey native's new album, Joywood, proves he's absorbed heartland influences since moving to Nashville in 1998. Working with producer George Marinelli, Pagetta has created a sweet roots-rock collection packed with mandolins, chiming pop melodies and easy rhythms. His clear, light voice expresses lyrics that probe growing up and learning to deal more maturely with love, temptation and responsibility. Pagetta is appearing as part of Cole Slivka's Shortsets. Family Wash 7pm: Cole Slivka hosts Shortsets feat. Jenny Madison, Kate York & Joe Pagetta. Pagetta is a New Jersey to New York to Nashville pop-rocker (and brother-in-law to Sheryl Crow) whose recent Joywood album displays melodic know-how and lyrical insight into how a man learns to mature despite himself. Cole Slivka's dreamy, linear songs are enhanced by her voice, which somehow manages to be both wispy and authoritative. Her Shortsets sonwriter nights feature underexposed and interesting artists.
